The dutch Military Pipes and Drums "The Blue Guards"
As president of our band I would like to welcome you to our official site. Some background about us and our goal. We are founded on January 21st / 2006 in the town of Ede. We consist of active and post active military personnel, comming from all branches of the armed forces. We stand for camaraderie, discipline and above all a good atmosphere within the band.
Our goal is to promote the music of the pipes and drums in the dutch armed forces. Although we are not an official military band, we perform solely within the armed forces or on behalf of the armed forces of the Netherlands. We follow the same strict guidelines that the ministry of Defense sets for it's professional bands. Our activities to date include changes of command, medalparades, swearing-in cermonies, passing out ceremonies for recruits, and lots of other official happenings.
We have allready achieved a lot and we still have a long way ahead of us, maybe we'll meet on that journey. If you happen to come across us when we practise or when we perform, don't hesitate to contact us.
